Tunnels

After moving through some weird sewers that seemed to distort space if you weren’t paying enough attention to them, we managed to find a “fifth test”, whatever that means. Here’s all the clues we’ve managed to uncover so far:

“You have reached the fifth test. By now, you know where to go. But how to get through? Something is missing. Use what you gained in the third test.”

  • find the crossings of the path before you act (sea/sky door, given water) — looking through the door was extra sharpness/clarity
  • some are oneness, give them one; some are duality, give us both (history door, given Cas’ childhood story) — Cas found a Klein bottle in her pocket she didn’t have before, reflects light oddly, very smooth on way and very rough the other)
  • things aren’t always what they seem, what we are is what cannot be removed (blood door, given a drop of blood) — blood boiled, then iced, got shimmery and hard to see clearly through
  • you don’t need to do it all yourself, use what you have (land/ground door, given a pebble) — when it ate the pebble, a dark ruddyness filled the alcove
  • it’s all or nothing, give everything at once (flesh door, given jerky)
  • flow for travel, gifts for secrets (flesh door, given a glow globe, which later was rolled out)

Clapping Rhymes

Everyone said these rhymes were really important, and that I should write them down. I don’t really understand why, but here you go!

Tserenia

Tserenia, Tserenia! The grownups whisper through the door. Tserenia, Tserenia! He’s coming, so we can’t ignore. Tserenia, Tserenia! And if you say it four times more. Tserenia, Tserenia! Then you can’t say it anymore!

Éna tenénu

On one, we run, we switch on two, on three, we praise sheqi tetelu, on four we clasp, on five we kiss, on six, we end which story? This! One, two, three, four five, six!

“Éna tenénu, pek tepitu, tash tashu sheqi tetelu, reqal tekalu, qir teqiru, peshta ha! qalam teshpetu. Éna, pek, tash, reqal, qir, peshta!”

Johnny the Giant

Johnny the giant was tall as can be! His bed was the trees and his bath was the sea! The houses in town would go up to his knee! But of him and his wife, the taller was she.
